Ken Young and The Association of Road Racing Statisticians have put together a site listing runners, records, and races. They list their winners and how long the races have been running. As it happens, the Erie Marathon (in it's various flavors) has been running for 30 years (2004 will be #31) and is the 93rd longest running marathon in the country. They have a fascinating site here: www.arrs.net.
Our friends to the north have a rather nice site at canuckrunner.com, wherein they happen to list our Erie Marathon (here), and most of the other area marathons I am aware of. Heck, they even list marathons in Arizona, which is rather far away. Nice site, and certainly worth a visit.
ncnracing.com sponsors the "Rat Race" series in Avon Lake, OH and environs. This is a health club (much like our own Nautilus) that actually sponsors races!
A new site is on-line, and they want to offer information on new races, upcoming events, and so forth. While they don't have much yet, they do have high hopes. Check out PaRunners.org for more.
Presque Isle Cycling is the local biking club. The pedal kind, not the motor kind. Many of the local duathons & triathlons draw from them and the ERC.
