Race Results.
The Event: Hamot Health Foundation, the Erie Runners Club and the city of
Erie present the 2006 Hamot 10K/Mayor’s Cup. In addition to
the competitive 10K and 5K event, the day’s activities also
include a Toddler Trot for kids ages two to eight and a Quarter-
Mile Kid’s Run for kids 12 and under.
Event Highlights
ChampionChip Timing
This year’s results will be tabulated by The Runner’s High using
the ChampionChip Timing System. On race day, runners will be
issued a rental computer chip which is attached to the shoe lace
and worn throughout the race. Special mats at the finish line will
record a finishing time for each chip. All chips must be returned
at the finish line. A $35 fee will be charged if the chip is not
returned. Chips must be picked up on race day; chips will not
be issued before race day.
Post-race Shower and Locker
Convenient shower and locker area is available free to race
entrants at the Hamot Wellness Center located at 300 State
Street from 9-11 a.m. Just show your bib number to use this
free service. Please bring your own lock, towel and soap.
Starting Times and Locations
Each event begins promptly at these times:

Awards Ceremony ......................................................10 a.m.
All events begin and end at the center of the Hamot campus at
Second and State Streets. Water stops, medical assistance and
traffic control are provided for the safety of the participants. First
aid, provided by Hamot Sports Medicine, along with water and
refreshments are available at the finish. The 10K course is
USATF certified #PA98016WB and follows a scenic route
through Erie, passing through the lovely South Shore and
Frontier areas. The 5K Walk/Run will follow as an out-and-back
course. The length of the Toddler Trot is adjusted for each age

Registration/T-Shirts
The entry fee for the 2006 Hamot/Mayor’s Cup 5K & 10K is $15.
Add $3 if postmarked after Friday, Aug. 9. The family rate for four
or more participants is $45, for pre-registered only (before Aug.
10). All 10K and 5K Walk/Run entrants receive a commemorative
2006 Hamot10K /Mayor’s Cup t-shirt. Registration for the Toddler
Trot and Kid’s Run is free and will be taken until 9:15 a.m. on race
day. T-shirts are available on the day of the race while supplies
last. Only pre-registered children are guaranteed a t-shirt.
Day of race registration is held on Sunday, Aug. 20 in the Hamot
Surgery Center parking lot from 6-7:30 a.m. All 10K and 5K event
participants must be registered by 7:30 a.m. on race day. All runners/
walkers must plan on arriving early to facilitate distribution
of the ChampionChip. Complete and sign the attached
application and send it (along with your check or money order

Awards and Commemoratives
Hamot 10K and 5K Walk/Run awards are presented to the first
three overall male and female finishers, as well as the first male
and female masters and wheelchair winners.
Awards also will be presented to the first three male and female
finishers in the 10K run, 5K run and 5K walk in the following age
groups: 12 and under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39,
40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
There will be no duplication of awards.
All participants in the Toddler Trot & Kid’s Run event will receive a
commemorative. The awards ceremony begins promptly at 10
a.m. along side the Hamot Surgery Center on East Third and
State Streets. All kids 12 and under are FREE. Pre-registered
kids will receive a free t-shirt.
Directions to Hamot
Hamot is located at 201 State St. in downtown Erie, PA.
From Interstate 79:
Follow the Bayfront Highway about three miles to State Street.
Turn right on State Street. Hamot will be on your left.
From Interstate 90:
Take the Parade Street exit. Follow Route 8 and Parade
Street through Erie to Fifth Street. Take Fifth Street to State
Street. Turn right onto State Street.
Parking
The Erie Parking Authority operates a public parking ramp
across from Hamot Medical Center. Access to the ramp is
from East Third Street. A metered parking lot is located at
Third and French Streets. Street parking is limited, but available
and free on Sundays.
