Packet Pickup - You CAN pick up your shirt, bib & chip on race morning. You do NOT have to pick them up on Friday or Saturday. Of course, if you want to get you shirt & bib on Friday or Saturday, it will save time on Sunday Morning. They can be picked up at SilkScreen Unlimited (Map)

COURSE : One loop (13.1 miles) of Presque Isle State Park. The start and finish are on the Old Lake Road (Beach #1). The course is USATF-certified (#PA02012WB). This is the same course as has been used for the past several years. Course Changed. See below. There are 8 water stations on the course and refreshments at the finish line. An electrolyte drink will be available at 4 of the water stops.

22 June 2006 - The half marathon in July has a course change due to construction. The July Half Marathon course is essentially two quarter-marathon (10.5 km) loops on the neck of the peninsula.

NOTE: There is the possibility that construction will alter the course this year. If that is the case, every effort will be made to certify the course prior to the race. An announcement regarding this will be made on the Erie Runners Club web site (www.erie-runnersclub.org).

TIME : The Presque Isle Half Marathon will start promptly at 7:30 a.m. Day-of-race registration will begin at 6:00 a.m. near the Beach #1 bathhouse. Pre-race packet pickup will be held at Silkscreen Unlimited, West 8th Street & Lincoln Avenue, on Friday, July 14th, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturday, July 15th, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The race will be timed using the ChampionChip. You must present your race number on Sunday morning to receive your computer chip, which is worn on your shoe to automatically record your finishing time. Chips will be available beginning at 6 a.m. Volunteers will be ready at the finish line to collect the chips. There is a $35 fee for lost or unreturned chips.

ENTRY FEES : $25 - ERC members (before July 1)
$27 - Non-members (before July 1)
$30 - Late (postmarked after July 1) and day-of-race registrations. NO exceptions!

Race fee includes choice of a tank-top style shirt or a standard short-sleeved T-shirt. Shirts are available in the following sizes - S, M, L, XL, and XXL. (Add $1 for XXL shirts.) Be sure to check the appropriate boxes on the application form. Premiums may not be available on race morning, in which case NO premium will be made available and NO discount will be given.

Shirts are guaranteed to all pre-registered participants. If we run out on race day, more will NOT be ordered. Cut-off date to pre-register is Saturday, July 1. Applications must be postmarked by this date or they will be held for balance due at check-in. Premiums are NOT guaranteed to registrations postmarked after July 1st 2006. Premiums not picked up by 3:00 on race day will be forfeit and may not be available.

AWARDS : Open Division - Special awards personalized with name and finishing time will be presented to the top five male and female finishers and to the top male and female masters (age 40 & over) finishers. Personalized age group awards will be presented to the top three finishers (both male and female) in five-year age groups beginning with 19 & under and progressing through 80 & over. There will be no duplications.

Clydesdale Division - You may choose to run in this division where awards are based on body weight instead of age. Personalized awards will be presented to the top three males in these groups: 180-199 lbs., 200-219 lbs., and 220 lbs. and over; and to the top three females in these groups: 130-144 lbs., 145-159 lbs., and 160 lbs. and over. Those choosing the Clydesdale Division are ineligible for awards in the Open Division. You must mark the appropriate division and weight group on the entry form to be entered in the Clydesdale Division.

POST-RACE PICNIC : The picnic will begin at approximately 10:30 a.m. at Waldameer Park in the Southern #2 picnic grove (use Peninsula Drive entrance). Food and beverages (all-you-can-eat buffet style) will be served for all registered runners and for race volunteers until 1:30 p.m. The awards ceremony and door prize drawings will commence as soon as race results are compiled. Complete results will be posted at the picnic grove.
